Walter G. Luger is the founder and principal partner of the firm. He concentrates his practice in the areas of mediation, arbitration, and trials, involving commercial litigation, with an emphasis on business, contract, construction, environmental, insurance, labor and employment, land use, and real estate matters. Walt also has substantial experience and expertise in complex civil matters, chancery matters, and in legal consulting. Before starting Walter G. Luger & Associates, LLC. in 2003, Walt was the managing partner of the New Jersey office of a national law firm. He was also a litigation partner in one of the most prominent law firms in New Jersey where he concentrated on contract, construction, environmental, labor and employment, land use, real estate, and complex civil matters. Walt received his undergraduate degree in business administration from Seton Hall University. In 1984, he obtained his law degree from Seton Hall University School of Law. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey, in both federal and state courts, and before the United States Court of Appeals, Third Circuit. Walt is a member of the American, New Jersey, and Morris County Bar Associations. He has served as a Special Counsel to the County of Morris from 1999 to date, and has also served as a court-appointed Guardian and as a Guardian Ad Litem in various probate/estate matters. Walt is also a past –President of Kiwanis. Betty F. Greitzer is of counsel to the firm, and concentrates her practice on regulatory, government relations and real estate matters. She counts food retailers and wholesalers, licensed professionals, trade associations and non-profit organizations among her representative clients. Betty joined Walter G. Luger & Associates, L.L.C. in 2005, after thirteen years as a solo practitioner, and is admitted to practice in New Jersey, in both federal and state courts. She is also a member of the New York State bar. Betty earned her B.A. magna cum laude in History in 1973 from the University of New Hampshire. She received her J.D. from the New England School of Law in 1976. From 1980 through 1991, Betty was the Director of Public Affairs for Pathmark Stores, Inc., where her responsibilities included state and local government and community relations. She acted as defense counsel for the company and its stores with respect to advertising, consumer fraud, agriculture, environmental, weights and measures and local ordinance enforcement. Betty also served as counsel to upper level management on a variety of operational compliance issues, and directed Pathmark's Customer Relations Department. In private practice, Betty has represented businesses both large and small. Her representative clients include Bozzuto's, Inc., Pathmark Stores, Inc., the New Jersey Food Council and the New Jersey Academy of Audiology. Betty is the author of The Retailer's Guide to New Jersey Law (1994) and The Food Retailer's Guide to New Jersey Law and Regulation (2006)
